Our League

The Herts Youth League has been set up with the intention of providing our children, coaches and referees with the best possible start in football.

The league principles seek to put the welfare and enjoyment of our young participants first. We want our children to play with freedom in a safe and calm environment which allows them to make, and learn, from their own mistakes.

Our rules are child centred and focus on the long term learning experience. They draw on rules adopted by other progressive leagues that have proved popular with players, parents and clubs.

We aim to promote best practice and support clubs in efforts to educate coaches and parents in the FA’s vision for children’s football. We fully embrace the FA Respect Campaign, with codes of conduct (coach & spectator) recognising that good behaviour makes for a great game.
